All trade in Afghanistan will be in Afghan currency.
The Afghan Taliban has issued a currency statement on its social media account.
The Afghan Taliban say the country’s identity is important, no decision will be made that goes against the country’s material and spiritual interests.
It may be recalled that at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance last week, Pakistani Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen had said that Afghanistan was in danger of a shortage of dollars, so trade with Afghanistan would be in Pakistani rupees and not in dollars.
He had said that the IMF and the World Bank had withheld Afghan dollars and the situation in Afghanistan was being reviewed on a daily basis.
Shaukat Tareen said that people could also be sent from Pakistan to run various affairs in Afghanistan, food price is the biggest problem in the country.
