Americans still at Kabul airport, a Taliban spokesman said

Bilal Karimi, a spokesman for the Taliban, which has taken control of Afghanistan, said Americans were now present in only part of Kabul airport.

Talking to a US broadcaster, Afghan Taliban spokesman Bilal Karimi said that the new government to be formed in Afghanistan would try to maintain good relations with the United States.

He said that he would like to have good relations with the United States, however, diplomatic and economic relations with the United States would be established on the basis of equality.

Bilal Karimi said that the Taliban have taken control of most parts of the Kabul airport, the Americans have gone from 3 important places of the military part of the airport.

The Taliban spokesman also said that the three key military bases at Kabul Airport were now under Taliban control, while only a few parts of the airport were occupied by Americans.
