Appeal to reopen Afghanistan investigation

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has called for the reopening of its investigation into Afghanistan.

Karim Khan, the new ICC prosecutor, has removed alleged US crimes from the Afghan investigation.

Prosecutor Karim Khan says the investigation has decided to focus on the alleged crimes of the Taliban and ISIS in Khurasan. The Taliban’s control itself falls into the category of illegal values transfer.

The International Court of Justice prosecutor added that there was good reason to believe that those linked to the Taliban were involved in crimes against humanity.
