US Democrat Senator Chris Wayne has said that Pakistan’s role in the current situation in Afghanistan is very important. In the context of the Afghan situation, President Biden will contact the Pakistani Prime Minister.
Senator Chris Wayne said in a statement that he had spoken to the US Secretary of State, National Security Adviser and the Biden administration in this regard, adding that there was no impediment to communication between President Biden and Imran Khan.
He said that the US Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and senior officials were in full touch with their Pakistani counterparts and the international community needed to put pressure on the Taliban.
Chris Wayne said the Taliban should provide a safe passage for those who want to leave Afghanistan, the Taliban should represent every school of thought and group in the Afghan government, and the Taliban should ensure that Afghan soil is not used for future terrorism.
He added that war-affected Pak-Afghans were working on a bill in the Senate for trade zones in the border areas.
