England captain Joe Root has snatched the honor of scoring a record run against India from former Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad.

Miandad had scored 2,228 runs in 39 innings against India with the help of six centuries.

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is the leading run scorer against India in the Test format with 2,555 runs.
