Heavy rain in Lahore, water accumulation, action of Bazdar

Heavy rains lashed Lahore early in the morning, causing water to accumulate in low-lying areas, affecting traffic flow.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar has ordered immediate drainage of rain water accumulated in low lying areas of Lahore.

He directed WASA officials and administration to use all resources for drainage.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rains across the country even today.

The Meteorological Department said that strong winds and thundershowers are likely in different parts of the country today.

According to the Meteorological Department, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Balochistan and Sindh are likely to receive showers with strong winds and thundershowers.

The Meteorological Department said that rains are expected to continue in Karachi till September 11.
