Karachi, the largest city in the country and Sindh province, received long rains with strong winds and thunderstorms last night.
Director Meteorological Department Sardar Sarfraz said that there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Karachi even today.
He said that thunderstorms could start in the city this afternoon, which could lead to heavy rains in some places.
The Director Meteorological Department said that the whole of Sindh is in the grip of monsoon winds. The monsoon system has gripped especially southern Sindh, where the spread of this system is reaching Karachi.
He said that rain is expected in Quaid-e-Azam city for the next two days (September 11). Two or three days ago, rain was forecast last night.
Sardar Sarfraz, director of the Meteorological Department, added that another spell of rain is expected after September 15 and 16
He also said that if 50 to 60 mm of rain falls in half an hour in Karachi and Hyderabad, there will be chaos.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Karachi was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department also said that the westerly winds in Quaid-e-Azam city are 12 km per hour, with a humidity of 78%.
