Loneliness can be devastating for people, according to health experts, people with loneliness have a higher risk of heart disease.

 Loneliness causes the body to release certain hormones that indicate depression and stress, most notably cortisol, which can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Research shows that if your loneliness lasts too long, it can have profound negative effects.

Experts say that if a person lives alone and isolated, it increases the risk of heart disease by 29% and the risk of stroke by 32%.
