Russia will not rush to recognize new Afghan government

Russia’s foreign ministry says it will not rush to hand over power to a new government in Afghanistan.

Russia’s foreign ministry said in a statement that it was in contact with the United States over the situation in Afghanistan.

The diplomat said Russia would decide to recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan based on its attitude.

On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates has also withdrawn its diplomats from Afghanistan.

It may be recalled that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had issued a statement on social media yesterday in which he said that he had left Afghanistan to avoid bloodshed.

Yesterday, the Taliban also took control of the Afghan capital. On Sunday morning, the Taliban entered Kabul and Jalalabad without any resistance.
