The situation in Kabul is stabilizing, the Russian Foreign Ministry said
The Russian Foreign Ministry says the situation in Kabul is improving. The Taliban have begun to establish law and order.
In a statement on the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan, the Russian Foreign Ministry said it would decide whether to recognize it based on the new Afghan leadership’s approach.
Earlier, the Russian news agency quoted the Russian embassy as saying that Ashraf Ghani had taken four cars and a helicopter full of notes with him.
The report said that Ashraf Ghani had to leave the rest of the money here as he did not have enough space in cars or helicopters to carry the rest of the money.
The Russian embassy in Kabul said the way Ashraf Ghani came to power was evident from his escape from Afghanistan.
The news agency said four of his cars and a helicopter were loaded with notes, while more currency notes had to be thrown on the streets.
On the other hand, Vladimir Putin’s special envoy to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabul, had said that it was not yet possible to estimate how much money Ashraf Ghani had taken with him and how much he had left behind.
