Taking steps to provide cheap electricity, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has said that the government is taking steps to meet the energy needs of power consumers at affordable rates.

To this end, the government is making every effort to meet future energy requirements.

Reduce reliance on expensive power plants and invest in renewable sources. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting on energy sector on Tuesday.

Federal Minister for Energy Hamad Azhar and SAPM for Energy and Petroleum Tabish Gohar were also present on the occasion.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Power, Secretary Finance Division and other senior officers.

The Finance Minister called for further planning in tackling volatile energy prices in international markets.
