Taliban’s strict ban on female students dress, protest campaign on social media

A protest campaign has been launched on social media against the Taliban’s strict ban on female students’ clothing. 

Afghan women from around the world have shared resistance messages in the ‘Don’t Touch My Clothes’ campaign.

Pictures of colorful Afghan costumes abounded on social media.

The hashtags “Do not touch my clothes” and the hashtag “Afghanistan Culture” have become popular trends on social media.

Dr. Bihar Jalali, an Afghan professor who launched the campaign, says his biggest concern is an attack on Afghanistan’s identity and sovereignty.

“Women want to show the world the colorful face of Afghanistan,” she said.

She called on other Afghan women to do their part to show the world the “true face of Afghanistan”.
