Talks with other partners, including the United States, the European Union: Situation in Afghanistan

Without acknowledging the Taliban, world leaders have consulted them on political dialogue. In this regard, the head of European Foreign Affairs Joseph Borrell said in a message released on his social media account Twitter that various issues of Afghanistan and its current situation have been discussed by world leaders today.

The talks were attended by the Foreign Ministers of the European Union, the United States, the Secretary General of NATO, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Japan, Qatar and Turkey.

According to European Foreign Affairs Chief Joseph Borrell, he discussed Afghanistan’s immediate priorities today with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and other key partners.

According to the EU High Commissioner, the topics discussed included humanitarian aid and access, counter-terrorism, safe passage for those who want to leave the country, the migration of people from Afghanistan and political talks with the Taliban without their recognition. Were
