Victory of the Taliban will encourage African jihadist groups, Antonio Guterres said

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said Taliban control of Afghanistan would encourage armed jihadist groups in African countries, which is dangerous.

In an interview with a foreign news agency, Antonio Guterres stressed the need to strengthen the security mechanisms of African countries.

The UN Secretary-General said dialogue with the Taliban should be maintained, and should be based on solidarity with the Afghan people.
